As a Society, our commitment is to support honest non-profit organizations working in Bulgaria to make a positive impact in the lives of youth and underprivileged segments of society. Our annual giving funds programs supporting education and humanitarian efforts implemented by trusted partners.

Our annual giving falls under general grants and named educational scholarships. We have three named scholarships:

  • The Tony Fund, named in loving memory of Tony Alexandrova
  • Sol Polanski Scholarship, named in memory of Ambassador Polanski and former BAS President, Sol Polanski
  • Meryl Steigman Scholarship, named in memory of BAS long time Executive Director

BAS relies on donations from those interested in supporting grassroot efforts in Bulgaria. As a voluntary organization, 100% of all donations are used to support our grantees. BAS is a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Our current and past grant recipients are listed below. BAS welcomes expressions of interest from those seeking funds for worthy initiatives on a rolling basis.
